The next departures of the Kholmogory vessel from St. Petersburg to Kaliningrad are scheduled for the next months. On the first voyage, the ship delivered rolled metal to the region, and on the next voyage, it delivered cement, for which there is already a boom in the region. Until recently, four ships operated on the shipping line between the Leningrad and Kaliningrad regions, three of which were railway ferries. They ran between Ust-Luga and Baltiysk.

Cargo river port in Kostroma received the first cargo

On the first flight, two barges with materials for road repair arrived at the port, the weight of the cargo was 4.1 thousand tons. The operation of the port will allow receiving large volumes of cargo and reduce the cost of transportation. Road, woodworking, construction and agricultural enterprises of the Kostroma region and neighboring regions will be able to send and receive goods. The operation of the port will also reduce the traffic load on the roads of Kostroma.

Next year, they plan to launch a ferry service between St. Petersburg and Kaliningrad. Andrey Yermak, Minister for Culture and Tourism of the Kaliningrad Region, told TASS.

The project is still under development, because so far this option seems interesting, primarily due to cargo transportation, and not due to passenger transportation.

Also in the plans is a project to attract Moby SPL ferries for passenger traffic along the St. Petersburg - Kaliningrad line.
