Container train launched from Hefei to Budapest

On July 29, the first container train departed from the eastern Chinese city of Hefei (Anhui Province) to Budapest.

The train will deliver 100 TEUs of solar panel components, electric machines and inverters worth about $10 million to the Hungarian capital, Xinhua news agency reported. It is expected that the train will arrive in Budapest in 16-18 days, covering more than 10.8 thousand km.

The first China-Europe freight train from Anhui Province was launched in 2014. Since then, more than 2.5 thousand flights have been made on this route, connecting Anhui with 85 cities in 18 countries. Since the beginning of this year, a total of 500 freight train trips have been made from Anhui to Europe and back.
