
A traction substation "Shmakovka" was opened in the Primorsky Territory.

The modernization of the Eastern polygon (Baikal-Amur (BAM) and Trans-Siberian railways) is one of the largest infrastructure projects currently being implemented in Russia.
The first stage of the project provided for an increase in the carrying capacity of the BAM and the Trans-Siberian Railway in the direction of seaports and border crossings of the Far East to 144 million tons in 2021.
As part of the second stage, the capacity of railways in this section should increase to 180 million tons of cargo per year by 2024.
