In Transbaikalia, a plan for the socio-economic development of the regional center has been prepared.
One of its directions is connected with the modernization of the Chita (Kadala) airport, which provides for the expansion of the runway and the reconstruction of the terminal. A multimodal logistics center will be created near the airport complex. This will increase the volume of freight transit through Chita, reduce logistics costs for imported goods, the government of the Trans-Baikal Territory notes.
In 2021, Chita International Airport ensured the performance of 4.3 thousand takeoff and landing operations, the cargo flow amounted to 2.3 thousand tons of cargo and mail. The most popular flight destinations were Moscow, Novosibirsk and Yekaterinburg.
